Writing a Festival Description
A well-written festival description clearly states what the festival is, when and where it takes place, what people do, and why it is special.
Sample Festival Description: The Spring Lantern Festival
Every year in March, my hometown celebrates the vibrant Spring Lantern Festival to welcome the arrival of warmer weather. In the evening, families gather in the central town square, which is decorated with thousands of colorful paper lanterns.
People wear traditional clothes and walk through the streets carrying lanterns shaped like animals and flowers. There is lively folk music, and local vendors sell delicious traditional street foods like sweet rice cakes and warm spiced cider. At midnight, everyone makes a wish and releases floating lanterns into the night sky, creating a breathtaking sea of golden lights. It is my favorite festival because it brings the entire community together in peace and joy.

- The Atmosphere / Climax (1–2 sentences): Describe the most exciting part (e.g., fireworks, bonfires, parades, music).
- Example: “The highlight of the night is the spectacular fireworks show…”
- Conclusion (1 sentence): Share your personal feelings about why you love this celebration.
- Example: “I love this festival because it creates unforgettable memories with family and friends.”
