Exchange Students Role-Play Dialogue (Group of Four)
This speaking task requires four exchange students to meet for the first time, introduce themselves, discuss their initial impressions of the new school, express their emotions, and talk about the after-school clubs they plan to join.
Role-Play Dialogue: First Day at the International Campus
Characters:
- Liam (from Canada)
- Sofia (from Spain)
- Kenji (from Japan)
- Amira (from Egypt)
Liam: Hi everyone! Mind if I sit here? My name is Liam, and I just arrived from Toronto, Canada, two days ago.
Sofia: Hey Liam, please have a seat! I’m Sofia, an exchange student from Madrid, Spain. It’s lovely to meet you all. Honestly, the campus is so much larger than I pictured—the library looks like a castle!
Kenji: Nice to meet you both! I’m Kenji from Kyoto, Japan. I completely agree with you, Sofia. My first impression is how welcoming and diverse everyone seems. At the same time, I feel a little bit anxious about getting lost between classes, though I’m mostly excited to be here!
Amira: Hello everyone! I’m Amira from Cairo, Egypt. Don’t worry, Kenji, I felt pretty overwhelmed this morning too, but finding friendly faces makes everything easier. The vibe here is vibrant and energetic.
Liam: Exactly! It’s normal to feel a mix of excitement and nervous energy. Have any of you thought about extracurricular activities yet? I really want to join the Photography Club to document our trips and maybe try out for the Basketball Team.
Sofia: That sounds awesome, Liam! Since I love performing arts, I’m definitely signing up for the Drama Club. I also heard there’s a Debate Society, which could be great for improving our public speaking skills.
Kenji: Count me in for something creative too! I’m planning to join the Robotics and Coding Club because technology is my passion, and I might check out the Badminton Club to stay active.
Amira: Fantastic choices! I’m eager to join the Model United Nations (MUN) to learn more about international relations. I’m also interested in the Environmental Action Group so we can work on sustainability projects around the school.
Liam: Wow, we all have such diverse interests! Why don’t we walk over to the Club Fair together this afternoon and sign up at the booths?
Sofia, Kenji & Amira: That’s a great idea! Let’s do it!
