Blog Post: Our Asteroid Mission
Last month, a crew of astronauts travelled to a distant asteroid to explore it. The goal of the mission was to take photos, collect rocks and look for signs of life.
Unfortunately, the spaceship went off course because the engineers had not checked the navigation system. The robot also could not repair the damage because the crew had forgotten to update its software.
If the engineers had checked the navigation system, the spaceship would have stayed on course. If the crew had updated the robot’s software, it could have repaired the damage faster.
The astronauts should have checked the equipment before the mission. They should also have updated the robot’s software. The crew could have communicated more carefully.
This mission taught us an important lesson: space missions need good planning and teamwork. In the future, astronauts may explore more asteroids safely.
