## Comparative Adjectives: Rewriting with Opposite Meanings

**Comparative adjectives** express differences between two entities. When reversing the subjects of a comparative sentence to maintain or invert the meaning, we replace the adjective with its antonym (e.g., _smaller_ \rightarrow _larger_, _cheaper_ \rightarrow _more expensive_, _better_ \rightarrow _worse_).

💡 **EXAM INSIGHT / PITFALL:** When forming opposites in English, short one-syllable adjectives usually take the suffix **-er** (_short_ \rightarrow _shorter_, _warm_ \rightarrow _warmer_), long multi-syllable adjectives require **more / less** (_expensive_ \rightarrow _more expensive_), and irregular adjectives change completely (_good/better_ \rightarrow _bad/worse_).
